As we begin a brand new season, its' nice to take a moment to reflect on how lucky we are to have such a beautiful and fun area to come and enjoy.

Its hard to believe that even in the 80's, already twenty years after development, Frye Island was a big secret!  Not even many local Mainers knew what we had developed here.  However between word of mouth and the publicity of becoming a town, the word got out and we were discovered.  We've been highlighted on various networks TV programs as a very beautiful and unique Community.

It's true we have just about something for everyone to enjoy: swimming (pool and lake), tennis, golfing, beaches, boating, water skiing, basket ball court, limited recreational activities at the community center, even a café and store to serve our needs, along with a lot of good will and cooperation from fellow islanders!

We are so lucky to have outstanding volunteers willing to serve on the various boards and committees to keep us on track.  There is always new challenges to meet and we've been blessed with talented and dedicated islanders willing to meet these needs.

An increased population over the years brings many new families with children.  We've catered to adult fun and recreation and one of our new challenges is to address more children's needs

To address this new challenge several islanders have been working diligently for a few years to address the problem and have  done all the hard work and resource to plan for a new Ball field and Family Park to begin construction as soon as it is approved by the Planning Board.

It is very important that these projects that improve and enhance the island community have proper rules of use.  It appears the Ball field Committee has addressed all of these issues, including the fact they have created a "Tax Deductible Fund" to support the project and thus keep our taxes at a minimum.  They've collected about three quarter of the monies needed to fund the project.  So be sure to look over the plans for the Ball field at the Administration building and you can make their job a little easier by making a "Tax deductible" donation and insure the children of the island have a place to meet other children to play little ball and be involved in a positive sport.

If you have any questions just call one of the dedicated committee members.

Thanks for your help and enjoy the season!
