From the Planning Board
Last Fall, Dick Norris approached the Planning Board volunteering to edit and revise the Land Use and Shoreland Ordinances. Over the winter months he worked on this project and handed it to the Planning Board in May. We have been reviewing and modifying his revised Land Use Ordinance all summer and had a public hearing on the revisions in September. We recommend that the Town approve this revised and clarified set of Land Use Ordinances. The Shoreland and Flood Plain ordinances will be worked on this winter by Dick, and we hope to complete those revisions next summer. The following is a letter sent to Dick thanking him for this very important effort. We hope every resident of the Town will take an opportunity to thank him also.
To: Dick Norris Subject: Land Use Ordinances
On behalf of the Planning Board, I would like to thank you for the innumerable hours you have spent revising, editing and making sense out of our Land Use Ordinance. As you know, we will bring your revised ordinance to the Town for approval this October. I fully expect the Town to vote in favor of the edited document. It is not often that a public-spirited citizen steps forward and volunteers for this type of time-consuming effort. I shall make the Town Meeting aware of your valuable contribution.
