As we approach our 41st anniversary, on August 12, we consider ourselves so fortunate to have spent 34 of
them associated with Frye Island. True Frye Islanders will understand our feelings, especially since this will be our last year. Thanks for the memories! More later!

REMEMER THE 'GOOD OLD DAYS'? WHEN WE HELD A COUNTRY FAIR AT THE OLD REC HALL?? WELL, PLANS ARE UNDERWAY FOR A CHILDRENS FAIR, THE FOURTH OF JULY 2003. IT IS BEING
SPONSORED BY THE RECREATION
DIVISION OF OUR NEW CONSERVATION COMMISSION. A COMMITTEE HAS BEEN FORMED AND IS HARD AT WORK TO MAKE IT A GOOD OLD FASHIONED EVENT. THE COMMITTEE WILL HAVE IT'S FIRST ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING ON
SUNDAY, AUGUST 25TH AT 1PM AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION:
The Code Enforcement Officer will  now  be in the Town Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00-4:00 P.M. in July and August.

                            SURPRISE!!!
I recently drove around our island, noting all the new construction in various phases, as well as many new additions to existing structures.  While traveling the island, I happen to pass by our new ball field.  What a surprise!  In front of me stood an emerald green field with base paths cut in, a backstop, newly planted shrubs, landscaped edges and a water fountain.  I also noticed three different groups of youths on the field--two girls kicking a soccer ball, four boys tossing a lacrosse ball and a larger group playing  softball. 

I hope ALL the islanders and their visitors take the time to visit this new addition to our island.  Stop by and see what a dedicated group of citizens can accomplish--with donations of cash and labor on the part of many.  And while you're at it--dig down and contribute.  We'll all benefit.
