TITLE: RESOLUTION SUPPORTING FRYE ISLAND SECESSION LEGISLATION

WHEREAS proposed legislation known as LD1216, currently before the Sate and Local Government Committee, would authorize the secession of Frye Island from the Town of Standish and

WHEREAS this legislation, as amended, is consistent with positions of the town as described in Council Orders #137-96 and #44-97 and

WHEREAS the town council finds that continued retention of Frye Island within Standish municipal boundaries in the future may be fiscally detrimental to the Town of Standish, now be it

RESOLVED that the Town of Standish hereby communicates its support to the Maine Legislature's State and Local Government Committee for the passage of LD 1216, as currently written and amended.
