How to Obtain Electronic Copies of Town Documents:

1. Use mouse to RIGHT CLICK on a document hyperlink shown above.

2. Select SAVE TARGET AS option on pop-up dialog box (assumes you are using MS Internet Explorer, similar option is available on other Internet browsers).

3. In the SAVE AS pop-up dialog box, select the folder on your PC that should contain the document to be transferred (e.g. create a folder called Town Documents and place all document files in that folder); click the SAVE button.

4. Watch the progress of the download on the progress pop-up window; click CLOSE.

5. Document is now located on your computer. 

6. To view the document, use the FILE pull-down menu on your Internet Browser, select OPEN, and browse your PC file system to the file you saved. The File from your computer will appear on the screen.

Notes:

• The above instructions assume that you are using MS Internet Explorer. Other browsers have similar features.

• Most documents are a single file. In a few cases (e.g., Land Use Ordinances) the document may be in multiple files due to size.

• While paper copies are available through the Town office, the electronic copy is a better way to keep the file. Besides saving paper, it allows you to FIND feature on your browser and on your PC to do key word searches.
