More on Beaches

Here’s an excerpt from a prior FINS:  “Frye Island is a great place to be, so especially during these few weeks of peak season, we have a LOT of people close together in a very small space.  That generally makes for a vibrant and up-beat atmosphere, and people on the island are almost universally thoughtful and considerate of one another.  Nevertheless at this time of year it’s important to remember some of the elements of mutual respect and common courtesy that underlie the vitality of our community.  Many of the beaches are crowded, so it helps not to spread out any more than you have to, or leave your gear when you’re not there.”

To make it clear, the Beach Ordinance explicitly prohibits leaving belongings on the beaches overnight.  We’re getting to the point where anything left on the beaches will be picked up and disposed of during the early AM cleanup.
