June 1, 2018 FINS:

June 12 Elections (again, final notice): Two elections will be held at the Town Hall on Tuesday, June 12 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM: 

1. MSAD 6 School Board and Budget Validation: Beginning this year there will be 11 seats on the MSAD-6 Board of Directors, including 1 member from Frye Island, and all member communities must vote for all members. Four at-large seats are up for election, one each from Buxton, Hollis, Limington and Standish. Candidates are listed on the sample ballot posted at the Town Hall and on the District’s website. 

The following annual Budget Validation Referendum is included in this election: 

Article 1: Do you favor approving the Maine School Administrative District No. 6 budget for the upcoming school year that was adopted at the latest District Budget Meeting? 

2. State Primary Elections and Special Referendum: Candidates for the Democratic and Republican Parties are listed on the ballots posted at the Town Hall. The Special Referendum is as follows: 

Question 1: Do you want to reject the parts of a new law that would delay the use of ranked-choice voting in the election of candidates for any state or federal office until 2022, and then retain the method only if the constitution is amended by December 1, 2021, to allow ranked choice voting for candidates in state elections?
